Joël PELLEGRINI is a French artist living in Rabat (Marocco). Grandson of stone-cutter, son of Pierre Pellegrini and Simone Lacroix, he was born in Alençon (small town, County town of Orne, located 200 km west of Paris). Attached to his Italian, Breton and Norman origins, he grows up with his brother and moulds himself in the midst of the magnificent and disused granite quarries in Condé sur Sarthe. He starts playing music early but is above all fascinated by learning drums and percussions at the age of 15. At the same time, composition slowly but surely becomes essential to him and gives a real meaning to his life. Player of the local Norman stage, Joël PELLEGRINI wavers between two worlds : creation with bands and artists, and his own personal creativity. Self-taught pianist, advanced percussionist, he trains himself in Paris but doesn’t follow the traditional degree course as he’s particularly interested in drums, classical percussions as well as ethnical percussions (different worlds with different approaches). He already lives on music but his nonconformist mind naturally emerges : he describes his music style as unclassifiable. Putting a lot into projects linked with creativity, from concerts to shows to pieces of writing to compositions, Joël PELLEGRINI devotes himself body and soul to a world as marvellous as unlikely and difficult : the Art of Music… |
